I'm stuck with using only internet explorer. Previously I had tried to uninstall Mozilla firefox so I could reinstall it. I get a firefox error message that says "couldn't load XPCOM.

Also my computer blocks adding DuckDuckgo as a search engine option.

I tried to contact Toshiba support, that too is blocked.

Last night I upgraded from spybot free version to Spyboy +antivirus Home Edition for my laptop, the only computer I have. This morning when opening Spybot to run a scan, I got the message that 2 computers are on this network and was reminded that I may be in breach of contract as I had paid for only 1 license. Immediately I checked Linksys. It showed only one computer connected.

Has someone tapped into my network?

Thats wierd!

It should not happen at all.

Try restarting in safe mode and see if you face problems.

If you have a repair disc try repair or do a complete re install of OS. That should fix it i suppose.

a full scan last night showed a few low risk items and they were fixed. I previously had firefox and uninstalled it, however some components remained. Uninstall no longer works on Mozilla. How do I do a Clean uninstall and remove everything Mozilla? Then I could try a fresh download.

or, you could install Revo Uninstaller Free   from Bleeping Computer.....quite straightforward to use, and it works.

usasma:  thanks, but the normal uninstall doesn't work.

Condobloke  I went through all the steps, 19 drivers were out of date. I'll bet this does the trick. I didn't see a free version, though. Thanks so much for your input.

Lana, I dont quite follow your "I went through all the steps, 19 drivers were out of date. I'll bet this does the trick. I didn't see a free version, though"...

Did you download Revo via the link I placed in post # 5 ?

Revo will install from that link and there is no demand for payment at all.

There is a screen opens after the install finishes, urging you to buy the premium version, but you can simply close that window and ignore it.

Revo should have left an icon on the desktop....if not then click on start, all programs, and it will be in the list.
