The recommended specs for Day Z is:
OS: Windows 7 SP1
Processor: Intel Core i5-2300 or AMD Phenom II X4 940 or better
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 or AMD Radeon HD 7750 with 1 GB VRAM or better
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 14 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX®-compatible

My computer specs are:
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600)
Processor: AMD A10-4600M APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics 2.30 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.47 GB usable)
Graphics:AMD Radeon HD 7660G
DirectX: Version 11

Any help would be good as I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to computer specs.

Not quite.  This is a laptop right?  The Radeon HD 7660G is slower than the Radeon HD 5850, the minimum GPU for DayZ. That's according to most charts/benchmarks I can find. But, it is not that much slower.

What laptop is this exactly? What's the model name? Need more information.

pistol22cal is correct. Just lower the settings until it is smooth. Keep in mind, DayZ is still in beta and may have performance problems despite what hardware you use.
