Quite often when I'm typing the "t" key, a new tab opens. The "n" key also opens a new tab. The "i" key will change the font to italics. The "h" key opens history. This doesn't happen all the time, but once it starts, I'll get a new tab several times in a row, and then it's fine again. Nothing has spilled on the keyboard. I've tried the fix that I found on the google chrome website but that didn't help. The control key has been cleaned and the problem continues. Is the only fix a new keyboard?

Try a different keyboard and see if the problem persists. If it does not, it was the original keyboard. A key can "press itself" without being dirty/touched/cracked. Damage can cause that to happen, especially involving water. If it seems to be the original keyboard use a different one while the original dries out.
