What are the 4 updates needed for W10? I had taken off 2 that I had and white box in toolbar disappeared ,I had them hidden. I decided to reinstall them to see if computer would perform better. Seems a bit better. If I have this white box will it mean I have to have to go to w10 someday or it just gives you choice?

Upgrading is optional, however know that your free upgrade will expire if you don't take it by July 29, 2016

Hi guit30 :)

You can upgrade to Windows 10 at any time using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. Which means, you don't need to upgrade via Windows Update, so you don't need to install the prerequisites updates needed.
