Windows 10 is similar to Windows 7 and 8.1

You can right click "this pc" and select properties  Under Windows Edition it should say Windows 10 Home/Pro

To be sure, type 'winver.exe' in the Search box, hit return, click on the 'winver.exe' file at the left top corner of your screen, and you get a dialogue box that tells you the Windows version and the license, which you will need to read, now that you can.

I found it and it was under an email address that it somehow made up from the 'name' of my computer when I transferred from one laptop to a new one - fine because now I have it but go figure - I appreciate your directing me to that space so it is now official - maybe it wont say 8 anymore now that I have agreed to it.  You all have been important in allaying my concerns!
