It looks like I posted my issue in the wrong forum!  I'm going to copy/paste it here. Then can an admin delete the other one please? here's the thread that's in the wrong forum:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/589693/change-back-to-pop-from-imap-please-help/

I'm hoping that my earlier thread has been ignored because I've been replying to it. So I'm starting a new one in hopes of catching someone's attention that knows more about IMAP/POP than I do(edit: this doesn't really apply any more now that I noticed my error).

I recently got a new laptop with Office 2013 and Outlook 2013 was set up with IMAP(is that the default?).  I think this is my issue.  My issue is that emails are being deleted at random from my trash folder. I think it might have been because, unbeknownst to me until this issue with Outlook 2013, message deletion was set up for possibly one day (I've since changed that to the max of 30 days) via my ISP (Comcast) on the web.  Sometimes I need to go back to a deleted email and that's why I like to delete them individually at a later time.

Here is my original thread in case it's needed:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/588318/help-with-outlook-2013-and-trash-folder-deleting-emails-on-its-own/

I replied to a similar thread hoping someone would see that but so far, no reply. I realize it's only been a day but my original thread has been out there a little longer......it's the questions within this thread that I'm now wondering about:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/588946/how-to-roll-back-from-imap-to-pop3/

Thank you, thank you for any help.  I need a bit more of an education of IMAP vs. POP obviously.....I guess this is one way to get it.
