I am on the Windows 10 technical preview program and on build 10532. With this build, AVG and other security programs appear not to work. I have had AVG for a number of years without a problem and want to keep it. Any suggestions? I have tried numerous times to remove, reinstall, refresh, etc with no luck. I suspect it's the new memory compression and something in the pro edition. HELP.

AVG is supposed to work but there are other alternatives...see Windows 10 Approved Security Products

The issue is that I want to keep AVG. I have a paid subscription and use it successfully on another computer and phones. In the past it saved the other computer from nasties. I just want to be able to install it and be done. There are also a lot of other issues with build 10532. It's the build, probably the way the memory compression works with the new build. IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

If the issue is in the build itself, there's honestly nothing we can do to assist you with this. Microsoft needs to fix the issue via an update or release a new build. Any reason why you're still going via builds, and not using the RTM version of Windows 10 and updating it normally?

I updated the one machine I'm still running the TP and there was no problem with using MS Defender and Anti-Malwarebytes. I updated the build last week and this week I got the same updates I got on the other machines I upgraded.

Still unable to install AVG. I need security so am having to use Defender. Malwarebytes is OK and in use. Have heard of other security programs having issues with this build. Hopefully there will be an update/upgrade soon to fix this.

Hopefully it will not be too long before it is sorted out. In the meantime, Windows Defender + Malwarebytes should provide the protection you need.
