Ever since I loaded Windows 10 my internet is running slow and I continuously receive either a "recover webpage" message or "stop script" message.  I am on IE 11.  I tried the new Microsoft Edge but it seemed to run slower than IE.  Does any kind of update need to be done to my wireless router.  It is a Netgear N750 model #WNDR4300  Any help will be appreciated.

You can uninstall Bonjour. It's throwing errors in your Event Viewer and I doubt you need it. Also, if you go on SpeedTest.net and run a test, what download and upload speed are you getting?

You have a very good download speed, so webpages should load fast. If you install Google Chrome, are they still loading slowly?

The reason your internet is running slow is because Windows Update is now a P2P application and also Windows 10 continually tracks your web searches as well as computer searches. These things you can turn off but they are well hidden and set to on by default. Read this

Randem, this has nothing to do with Stacyeh's issue at all. Windows 10 doesn't talk that much bandwitdh at all, not enough to affect your download and upload speeds.

Aura, Sure it does, but you can ignore the facts... The proof and testing is in the information. It is NOT a guess... You should not make discounted remarks without the ANY sustaining information, it keeps the correct information from being known...

I'm using Windows 10 without any restrictions, which means that pretty much all the P2P services and features you mentionned above are operational on my system. My download speed is far from being as good as stacyeh's one and I have no issues whatsoever with my browsing speed. No, Windows 10 "P2P features" aren't significant enough to impact your browsing speed, nor your download and upload speeds for that matter.

The how do you know this if you have never tested what I say or what you claim? If you don't know about it or it did not happen to you then it does not exist eh?

It's actually common sense and experience in IT and technical support. Anyway, you are free to suggest stacyeh to explore these solutions, but I know that it won't work.

@ stacyeh, I note that you have not been online since 19th September.....I hope your PC is ok and you are able to access the internet.

As far as I can see you have no AV program installed....it is not listed in the mini tool box log.

Please run this for me ::

Download Security Check from here or here and save it to your Desktop.

    Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please copy & paste the contents of that document in your next post.
