Hello guys, I forgot my password to another account so I just made a new one, anyway. Basically whats been happening is when I'm I turn on my PC all is good but a few minutes later even when idle my monitor just turns off and shows the message "Monitor going to sleep" and then theres an audio loop to whatever video I was watching and sometimes not all the time my PC restarts itself or I have to do a force restart. I had this problem before and I replaced the motherboard and it stopped happening for a while but now it started again. If I could get some help that'd be great ASAP. P.S. I've also tried updating my drivers but that didn't do it.

Here are my specs:

i5-2500k

NVIDIA GTX 560

Z75 Pro3 Motherboard

Not really sure of the rest but here are my PCs temperatures:

Taking into mind thats me idling. When I play games it happens the most frequent but my PCs temperature goes up just a slight bit and not a noticable difference.

I also tried using WhoCrashed to show my crashing file but it didn't come up, it just came up with crash files of nearly 5 months ago.

Temps look OK.  Beyond that, let's try looking at these reports:

1)  Please provide this information (even though you may not be reporting BSOD's) so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum):  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/

2)  Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

FYI - If we're looking for Event ID 41 errors (unexplained shutdowns), there's more info on that here:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

I have the Knack. **  If I haven't replied in 48 hours, please send me a message. My eye problems have recently increased and I'm having difficult reading posts. (23 Nov 2017)FYI - I am completely blind in the right eye and ~30% blind in the left eye.<p>If the eye problems get worse suddenly, I may not be able to respond. If that's the case and help is needed, please PM a staff member for assistance.

The article just explains the reasons behind the error.  Basically it's:

- due to a BugCheck (BSOD)

- due to holding the power button down

- due to other unexpected problems (most commonly hardware - to include overheating), but can include other types of problems (such as software)

What we do is we look at the things that preceded it to see if we can find a pattern.

If it was a BSOD, there should (but not always) be an entry for that

If it's hardware, then you'll be reporting that the system just shut off

If it's the power button thing, then generally you'll remember it

Other things we may see are repeated events that bear further research.

As I look through the log, there's a lot of stuff that's not very specific - but there is a repeating ISCTAgent error - it belongs to the Intel Smart Connect Technology program on your system.

And there are several errors related to streamtip-alerter.exe - a program named Streamtip by NightDev ( https://streamtip.com/ )

I would download a fresh copy of the ISCT software from the manufacturer's website, then uninstall the current version and install the updated version.

I'd also uninstall the Streamtip program and leave it uninstalled until we've finished troubleshooting this problem.  Feel free to reinstall the latest version once we've stabilized the system.

Fast startup is one of the problem points that you'll find when searching the web.

If turning it off fixes things for you, then that's all that counts!

Good luck!

All of the problems seem to center around video at this time.
I'd suggest first updating your video drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Then, if problems continue, run these free hardware diagnostics (start with the video tests):  http;//www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Also be sure to run the hard drive diagnostics as there were some CRC errors showing in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version P2.00) dates from 2013.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

Only 140 Windows Updates installed.  Most systems have 180 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available (and didn't experience any errors).

These devices are disabled in Device Manager:

Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio)    SWD\MMDEVAPI\{0.0.0.00000000}.{24635087-3A89-4EF5-B1A1-78C3601580B6}    This device is disabled.
FrontMic (Realtek High Definition Audio)    SWD\MMDEVAPI\{0.0.1.00000000}.{02578D04-ABDF-41EB-AAB0-7FE0C418A82C}    This device is disabled.

Is this deliberate?  If so, why?

Please re-enable the devices and then update the Realtek High Definition Audio drivers.  Feel free to disable the device again if you would like to.

Hello, thanks for replying.

So there have been no BiOS updates for Asrock heres a screenshot:

https://gyazo.com/ecddad9c1a84072e39b9682069b5604c

And my GPU is up to date, the only drivers remaining are game specific which I don't need for this game atleast,

https://gyazo.com/d15d550dabceb148855cfa9136677149

One question, should I do all of these updates? Optional and Important?

https://gyazo.com/1a7f09b047059754e4da79843d156192

Thanks for your help, if you mean all of these updates I'll gladly do them. One more question, do I need a CD/USB to run these hardware tests?

And I will turn on those 2 in my device manager, I was just testing a new headset I got which wasn't working but I got it working now.

The reason that I'm concerned about the BIOS/UEFI is that later versions of Windows (8, 8.1, and 10) are very closely tied to the BIOS/UEFI.  So problems there will affect the OS.  And if the BIOS/UEFI isn't being updated - then we don't know if incompatibilities exist that aren't being fixed.  Still, there's nothing that you can do about it with this motherboard - so we'll work as if it isn't a problem.

Get the graphics card update.  It likely contains fixes that affect other video components.

Absolutely get all Windows Updates.  The only one's I skip at work are Skype, Windows Live Essentials, and the W10 upgrade.

Once you turn the Realtek devices back on - be sure to update the drivers for it.

Hello usasma, I updated my Realtek High Definition Audio and turned on those 2 that were disabled in device manager and I haven't had any issues in 2 days, any clue to why this must have happened? If it happens again I'll re-post on this forum and I appreciate the help.

Really all that I do is look for errors that stand out from the ordinary and suggest fixes for them.

I don't know why that would fix it, but I suspect a problem with the older drivers that updating fixed.

Good luck!
