When i am playing videos or music on my PC i prefer to listen with headphones so as not to disturb other people. However i have just gone to listen to a video online in this way for the first time since upgrading and no sound will play through my headphones. The speakers are fine but as soon as i plug the headphones into the jack the sound cuts out. I have tried 2 different sets of headphones that i know work fine as they are regularly used on othr devices. Also the audio jack on the PC in question was working fine under windows 7 previously.

I have gone into the settings and can find no way to reconfigure the sound setings to accept the headphones/Audio jack output. The only driver prsent is for the built in speakers which  is working fine.

Any ideas how i can get sound back working as it was under 7?

What is your sound device?  You can try updating your drivers.

Sound was the reason that I rolled back my media PC, but my sound was HDMI from my video card.  I'm working on a fresh install of Windows 10 on my main machine, but only play with it on the weekends and was waiting on the full version I purchased to arrive.
