what is the best software to scan for malware on a Mac?

Hi:

 

I don't what is "best" as there's likely no such thing, and I don't use a Mac.

 

So, this is just a recommendation based on the quality of other, Android- and PC-platform products by this software publisher (and I am just a home user unaffiliated in any way with the company):

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac

As MoxieMomma said, there's no real "best" anti-malware software. No program is going to catch everything thrown at it. I haven't checked on Malwarebytes detection ratings for Mac, but I have it on mine and it's fairly lightweight.
