I'm sure it will do the job!! It is a very well spec'd high end system.  I guess an obvious thing to decide at this point is whether you want to invest in the soon to be outgoing Haswell/LGA1050/DDR3 platform, or go for the recently released Skylake/LGA1051/DDR4 one.

Example Skylake build (I changed a few parts, e.g. PCPartpicker warns that you have to remove drive bays to use the video card you chose in the H440 case).

CPU Cooler: Corsair H105 73.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($109.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($179.99 @ Micro Center)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX Video Card  ($674.98 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 500R Black ATX Mid Tower Case  ($89.99 @ Amazon)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Full - USB (32/64-bit)  ($115.49 @ Adorama)
Wireless Network Adapter: Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I 802.11a/b/g/n/ac PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter  ($27.00 @ SuperBiiz)
Monitor: BenQ XL2411Z 144Hz 24.0" Monitor  ($279.00 @ Amazon)
Total: $2208.62
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Minor comments - I would get a retail OS.  For a small saving, OEM versions lock to a particular motherboard once activated, and we don't know if you may want to change in future.  The retail version of the OS is transferrable.

Are your prices in US dollars, or CAD/AUD/NZD etc.?  Seems your total is much higher...  Or did I forget to add something?

Another thing to consider is that your budget could easily get you the 6 core i7-5820K on an X99 motherboard.
