Is Trusteer Endpoint Protection safe?   How did it get on my computer?  It seems to takeover when I search for something.

I tried to uninstall it, but I'm afraid I'll lose something during the process.

Should I do a backup of my sustem before trying to remove this program?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Trusteer Endpoint Protection appears to be a part of Trusteer Rapport, which is a security software designed to be an additional protection in addition to antivirus software. It tends to be recommended by various banks for protection during online banking.

Thank you so much, Alexstrasza.  I was hoping to get a reply like that!   Yesterday I have 265 pieces of malware that I cleaned off the computer and wondered if Trusteer Endpoint Protection was a Wolf in Sheeps clothing.  Glad to hear it isn't.

One more question regarding Trusteer.  Would there be a conflict with Trusteer and my Kaspersky Internet Security?

Their known issues database only lists a conflict with Symantec Endpoint Protection, so with KIS you should be fine.
