I'm using my bf tablet and I'm curious to know if disabling background data is an option. if so please tell me how. Thanks

Is the setting available in Settings –> Wireless & Networks –> Data Usage? If so that is where you would do it. It's possible with some third party apps too. But it depends on if they are compatible with the device.

its not an option. the only way for me to do is is click on each app individually and disable background data. however i accomplished thisl. thank you

If below settings available then try this on your tablet

 

Settings > under connection settings tap on "Data usage"  > Tap "Menu" > "Restrict background data"
