Greetings.   In my mind, there is no question why we shouldn't have the free download of Windows 10. No doubt that we have Windows 8.1 (no following letters) installed and the Windows activation is confirmed and all required downloads are installed. So, why do we not get the windows symbol indicating the downloading eligibility of windows 10.

Hi Robert Sukovich :)

In order to have the "Get Windows 10" app on your system, you need to have the KB3035583 installed on your system. Do you have it? You can look throught your installed updates for it.

Yes, I eventually found that out. All of the downloads waiting on the computer were labeled as "optional" and Microsoft, in their instructions do not include "optional" downloads among the requirements. I finally started going thru the downloads one by one and only then in the right hand column did they use the word required. So, I proceeded to download all of them (88) and then the windows symbol appeared in the required location. So, the problem is solved and you were right since the problem was because the updates were not installed. Thanks
