Hey everyone,

I am hoping that someone will be able to help me.

My computer recently frozed and I had to do a hard restart on it but now it is crashing at the window boot screen ( screen  saying starint window). It starts to show the 4 color icon but then restart automatically.

After the restart, it says " windows failed to start" and give the option to do a startup repair or start windows normally.

What I tried so far:

startup repair from HDD and from OS cd ( cannot be repaired automatically error everytime)

bootrec.exe

chkdsk

but none of those have work so far.

Here is the error I am getting after trying a startup repair:

Problem signature:

  Problem Event Name:    StartupRepairOffline
  Problem Signature 01:    6.1.7600.16385
  Problem Signature 02:    6.1.7600.16385

  Problem Signature 06:    6
  Problem Signature 07:    BadDriver
  OS Version:    6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
  Locale ID:    1033

However I don t have any external media plug in except keyboard and mouse

I run FRST from a flashdrive and did a scan:

:welcome: nicksab to Bleeping Computer Community :)

If the scenario of system crashes/unbootable points to malware or rootkit infections, we could refer (report) your thread to be moved to the MRL team as no solution would be available for your computer if its indeed infected. If by any case you were cleared of malware, you can create or reopen this thread depending on the action of a BC moderator. Thank you.

Thank you. At this point , I can use all the help I can get. The computer is stuck in a startup boot loop.

Also, I tried to use the hard drive in another computer. Surprisingly, it works fine and boot normally. So what could be wrong with it?

I'm surprised it worked on another computer. Do you mean it boots or just able to browse your files by slaving or externally connected?
