OK. Ive been combatting what i think is a virus or malware gone feral for quite sometime.

Firefox runs at about half a million bytes with one or two tabs and svchost.exe is running up an equivalent tab. Avast stopped working so i uninstalled it which it refused to do with either the helper or native uninstall methods. I eventually deleted the folders in program files etc. I'm not sure which utilities to use or what the problem is specifically.

I torrent but only when necessary, i.e. i dont leave files hanging online for more than one seed and i port forward traffic.

Any advice someone has would be very appreciated or im going to f-bomb profusely whilst chucking my laptop out the window like a hockey puck!! But i'd rather not, i need my laptop i run an ebay business.

oh and i forgot to mention that the loading time for webpages is very long.

files dont download to the desktop until the second or third time i try.

i have to troubleshoot the internet to get it to connect everytime i boot or login.

i dont have pirated software installed or running.

i think i have an iat hook somewhere but rougekiller cant reliably find it and i dont know how to fix it.

and i could really use some direction/help please before i mess up my laptop.

i use win 7 home on a toshiba with 6gb ram and at one point i had a dual boot situation going on but im not sure what happened to that... terrible? yes i know. but more common than i think i bet.

thanks in advance all the same.
