Howdy!

VLC is a huge struggle for me to convert You Tube to MP3?  I've tried reading, watching tutorials..just don't get it!

So..I have found onlinevideoconverter.com, and it is working great (so far!)

Question: When I have a You Tube 50+ mix <personal use> after the conversion takes place and I have the MP3 in my music folder, does anyone know how to cut out the commercials in between the cuts?

Example I'm listening to this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QgNZcAA9Pk&list=RD8QgNZcAA9Pk#t=5271

(very long!)

Grr..the annoying commercials!

Thank you very much!

:scratchhead:  let me check again on what was converted. Thanks

@Tenis : I stand corrected!  The commercials did not convey!

This thread can close..thank you again!

Yeah, VLC is easy to convert your video into MP3.

While I think there is a more convenient way for converting to MP3.

I have been using an Online application which is efficient and useful.

You can follow this, and you don't need any knowledge about this software.

Because all the steps are very simple, and the guidance is clear.

You just need to browse your YouTube file and choose the output format as MP3

then with hitting the button "Convert", you can soon get the MP3 file.

You should try this easy and simple free way. :guitar:

@avine:  thank you for your suggestion!  I would imagine that you would not post a software program that might lead me to any malware or spyware?

I'm so skeptible for new software! Apologies..not that you would post something with bugs..I'll need to find out if "Apowersoft" will be compatible with my OS and pass those spy/mal/virus friends!!

Again, I appreciate your encouragement!

I get your concern  :)

I'm worried about encountering a virus or something else, too.

I wonder if you have ever tried this one.

Because I fall in love with it when my friend recommend it to me.

I think it's useful and helpful.  :thumbup2:

@Avine

Thank you so much for returning to my thread!

I did come upon a snafoo with Apowersoft...it required Java and I do not keep Java installed on my compter(s).

The next <learning curve> was that the conversion woul be a song or video I woould have in a music file.

The ultimate is to <for single use, not distribution> download YouTube music.

In the meantime, I have found that Online Video Converter has been succesful!

However, I am option to any further suggetsions you might have with Apowersoft!  There is a strong chance I might be missing something!

Have a great day!

Hello there softeyes, the last couple of weeks I've been using this and it's seems to work fairly well.

I'm a little crabby about the bitrate but what can you do?

Youtube's audio quality is a crap shoot and so you have to make do, sometimes, with what you get.

I have not tried this with a list - like the one you linked to - but have used it now with dozens of single tracks & have only encountered 1 or 2 failures and no malware / virus / crud that I can tell.

First time I tried it, I downloaded a few converted files and then scanned the heck out of them with MBAM, Avast and then the online version of ESET and everything came up clean.

Hope that helps.

Winterland

          >>    Grr..the annoying commercials!  <<

Not necessarily On Topic, but I overlooked this when I first read your OP.

Which browser are you using and are you using any type of Ad Block extension?

Sometimes, when others are showing me something on YouTube and an Ad pops up,  I still get startled because I forget that they are there - I never, ever see/hear Ads when I'm surfing and listening to YouTube. I think it would drive me crazy.

The other nice part about that link I sent you in the first post is that I'm just dropping in song by song, not whole playlists, and so I don't ever run into Ads after I've converted.

I am going to try the site you posted in your OP ( onlinevideoconverter dot com ) over the weekend and try it with a couple of playlists that I've got book marked.

onward,

Winterland

@Winterland ~ (not on topic, however that it's been  in the high 90's here..your user name at least reads cool!)

Right, firstly FYI laptop, M$ Vista slow basic, browser Mozilla Firefox, no Java installed on this lappy.

Thank you for the link!  The picture belows shows the first thing I noticed opening the link. Not knowing if you use FF, I'm not quite sure if I need to click on the red Addon?  P.S.  Do not play the URL shown...if you do, you'll get a headache!!!

softeyes, I'm sorry for my delay in getting back to you, work has been hectic but I should have let you know that.

All apologies.

I am a FF user but have not used the Addon for Firefox on that URL. I usually just paste the URL from YouTube in there, select Convert Video and then download and enjoy.

I'm not a fan of addons. However, I do have two plugged into FF:

1) AdBlock Plus (which keeps me from seeing/hearing all those ads on YouTube).

2) FlashGot which I use occasionally to grab some long form videos from YouTube.

Hope you were able to check that URL out and it worked for you and again, all apologies for showing up late.
