Just a quick question. Do you have SP3 on this computer? And not RC2?

That link gives an alternate loading.

And a whole bunch of stuff from our beloved forum:

One other thing...if it was there before, the possibility is there are still remaining files.

Just a thought.

I won't use anything google, but that's just me.

After the google maps/satellite issue I had just after XP went "dead" was enough to convince me.

I don't know why you would Uninstall as it will Update itself.

First I would try Revo Uninstaller: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/revo-uninstaller/

If that don't work you could try this video.  But, be careful as this involves Deleting Registry Keys USE AT OWN RISK!  Make sure you have some kind of a Backup for this pc before doing this.  Edit: I think that video is for Windows 7.  Maybe he has another for XP?  I will look for you.

I have run into this problem a few times and sometimes this is the only thing that will work.  You might do a thorough cleaning first to see if that is an issue that is affecting this also.  You did not mention if you Re-booted after you Un-Installed Chrome.  I would have done this first before the Re-install.

Hope this helps
