Error 80070005 when trying to download Win 10

Running 8.1 64bit on Lenovo all in one mfg date 12/19/12.  Keep getting download error 80050007. Media Creation tool doesn't open to use it.  Need help.  Thanks!

Follow the instructions below please.

EndqYRa.pngSoftwareDistribution - Rename
Follow the instructions below to rename the folders in SoftwareDistribution.
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select Spcusrh.pngRun as Administrator
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the commands below one at the time (press Enter to send it);
    • net stop wuauserv
    • ren %SystemRoot%\SoftwareDistribution\Download DL.bak
    • net start wuauserv
    • wuauclt.exe /updatenow
This will trigger the Windows 10 upgrade download via Windows Update. If it fails, upload the following files for me to review.

C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log
C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log

Shows it downloaded but when it starts the install it just hourglasses...according to the box it should prep computer for 10 seconds then ask for approval and install...just sits there with working on it and continuous hourglass.

Give it time. Depending on your computer, the process can take some time to complete.

2 hours of it just saying working on it...Not used to anything being this slow on this computer.

Follow the instructions below to take a screenshot using Windows' Snipping Tool:
  • Press on the Win Key + R to open the Run box;
  • Enter SnippingTool and press on Enter;
  • The Snipping Tool will open, asking you to choose the area to take in the screenshot;
  • Left click on the area where you want to start the screenshot, keep it, and drag the cursor across the screen;
  • Once done, release the left button to take the screenshot;
  • In the editing window, click on the File menu then Save As;
  • Save the screenshot in a folder that you can access easily;
  • Attaching the screenshot in your reply
    • Go in your thread and click on the Reply to this topic button in the top-right corner;

    • Below the text box you'll have the option to Attach files. Click on the Choose Files... button, navigate to your screenshot and select it;

Alright, this is the Get Windows 10 app. Did you download Windows 10 via the Windows Update, or via that app?

When I tried your cmd prompts, it doesn't start the update, in fact it didn't do anything. I can run it again and screen shot the cmd screen and show you what I get if that would help.

Yes please. Enter all the commands one by one, and once done, screenshot the command prompt so I can see it. However, use this command for the 2nd one instead of the one I listed above:
ren %SystemRoot%\SoftwareDistribution\Download DL2.bak

Go in the Windows Update panel. You should see the Windows 10 upgrade being downloaded now.
