I still use Lotus Smartsuite Approach for several databases which I don't want to lose or convert to some other program.  Does Approach still work under Windows 10?  I haven't upgraded yet for fear that it won't work.  I never did upgrade to Windows 8 but Approach has worked fine for me under Windows 7.  Any advice will be appreciated.  Thanks.

I'm not sure how much I would trust this, since it doesn't have any votes for/against, but according to Windows Compatibility Center it should work - Link

If you perhaps research on Windows 8.1 compatibility with Approach, you might find some results, just on the basis it's been out longer.  If it works in 8.1 I'd strongly suspect it would work in 10 (but that's just my opinion).

The last experience I had with Lotus software was trying to get Lotus Organizer (which the user swore by) to work on a newer 64bit system.  IIRC it was giving DLL missing errors on starting the program, and the solution was to copy said DLL file into the program directory.  I could see some elements of Lotus Smartsuite giving issues on new OS's like Windows 10 (for example that ancient looking desktop toolbar it installs) but that is not a critical.

Ultimately a solution for running any older software that proves problematic (in general) could include running an older version of Windows as a virtual machine, or even DOSBox is you want to run really old software.

Most software issues are 32 versus 64 bit and you would have the same issues with Windows Vista, 7and 8. Basically if it run in Windows 7 32 bit but not 64 bit  it will run in Windows 10 32 bit  and not 64 bit. Even then if you try hard enough you might find an emulator.

I installed it in Windows 10 Pro 64-bit during the Technical Preview period, and my build 10240 is now activated.  However, I have no files to test with, so all I can tell you is that the installation didn't bomb.  Version installed, 9.8.2 of SmartSuite, including Approach.

Thanks.

I have Approach on 11 computers with Windows 10, all but 2 are 64 bit.  They all work very well, no problems at all.

Good morning all.  I just wanted to let you know that I did upgrade to windows 10 last night here and my Approach databases all seem to be working just fine with no issues yet discovered.  I did not have to reinstall anything so I am very pleased.  Thanks to all for your responses and help.
