My headphone jack on my computer doesn't emit sound when I plug in my earbuds unless I shut down my computer first. It works perfectly after I shut down my computer and turn it back on but the strange thing is if I put my computer to sleep, hibernate, etc. when I boot it back up there is no sound coming from the earbuds again unless I shut down my computer again.

The earbuds aren't broken and there is sound coming from the speakers. Speakers also has sound with no earbuds plugged in.

Thank you in advance
