Hi all.

I have been struggling with freezes and BSOD now for a week. Since I installed a Gigabyte gtx 960 and it's drivers. I need the card so I can't just unhook it.

I have reinstalled my windows 7 a couple of times. automatic updates screws up. So I ended up with building a new win7 iso incorporating the updates with the tool NTLite and installing it.

It has been much more stable but I still get freezes and problems.

I run an older driver that I have read is more stable to the gtx 960.

The computer runs cold. No overheating.

Well that is all. I don't really know what to do. I will try the recommended tests.

and here goes the files.

Thanks for the help!!!

I just tried the driver verifier. And I couldn't even boot. I just went in to BSOD. so I thougth I should include files after that happened aswell. so the number two is those files.

Hi again :)

drivers test:

I didn't include the minidump file in my last post.
I was not sure about the minidump that corresponded to the crashes in my driver verifier. so I ran it again and with the same result.
I have now run it 3 times with the same result. so I would say that it is something with the drivers that is making the problem.

about the other tests
Hdd test.
my pc has a ssd drive as C drive and an 4tb hdd for storage just a couple of weeks old and have been working well before I installed the gtx 960.
I can't use the seagate tool. it says "finding RAM drive... Error reading from drive C: general failure". (C: is an ssd) I say it should ignore it because I will only use the program on the hdd.
I come in to the gui of the program and it freezes. I have tried native IDE, legacy IDE and AHCI.
During HDtune pro checking for bad clusters my win 7 froze after 30min, but smart says it is ok. My computer often just freezs for no reason.

The SSD tool works fine and says all is ok.

memmory test.
I have run windows memory test in dos mode for an whole night without any errors.
I will run memtest again this night using the memtest tool.

Edit: I just switched the RAM modules for an other pair. The computer seems much more stable. but I'm not sure yet. But it has taken longer than normal for the BSOD or freeze to set in.

Edit 2: I still get BSOD when running driver verifier. So somthing is not working.

Edit 3: I think it was the ram since I swiched I have not had any freezes or bsod. I still wonder about the drives though. I will post my last dump which I got after I switched the rams. If someone would be inclined to look at it I would be most grateful.

Nothing freezes for no reason.  Try installing Seagate Seatools for Windows and see if that'll read/test the 4tB drive

SMART is predictive technology, it's not meant to tell if a drive is good or not.  It's merely there to suggest that you run a HDD diagnostic.

Just FYI - CHKDSK isn't a HDD test either, it just tests the file system on the hard drive.

I see some signs that this OS might not be legitimate.

Here's suggestions on how to ensure that your version is legitimate:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/genuine

Should this be a pirated copy of Windows, please be aware that we may not be able to fix it (as the hacks that were done to activate it will cause the OS to behave differently than we expect it to). If that's the case, our efforts to help may just waste your time. Secondly, the forum rules prohibit assisting with pirated software - so the topic would be closed if that is the case.

Please provide this report:

License Information (Windows 7 and earlier)

Please provide the MGADiag report according to these instructions (from this post: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/165472-product-key-number-uninstall-deactivate-windows-3.html#post1767989 ):

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version F6) dates from 2008.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

Only 275 Windows Updates installed.  Most systems have 300 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

You have a B-Link RTL8188CU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter:

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later systems - using older drivers with them is almost certain to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have the latest Win7/8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use older drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

Driver Verifier memory dumps blame your Avast antivirus.  Please uninstall it.

Thank you for your help :)

About the windows 7. Yes It's genuine no hacks, just that I have not put in the key yet. I have had so much trouble. reinstalling it perhaps 7 times that I have not come around to do it. So nothing would cause the OS to behave differently than expected.

Well I'll be updating and following your advice.

Thanks again for your help.

Then I would suggest that you put in the key and activate it.
Then upload a new set of reports for us to have a look at.
