  Quietman,

At your suggestion, I am trying a 30 day free trial of this AV. I have used Norton for a couple of years, but with the upgrading of Windows 7 to 10, and their total change of systems during the same time, it has caused problems for lots of their members, like myself who were not updating to W10, my computer hardly worked, and I was not getting windows updates or able to install ones I got. What happened was they had changed my new update to W10, so it was not compatible to my system and thousands of others. I had to clean all of Norton out of my computer, then installed the ESET AV8, which I love, computer is quicker, it updates automatically, my computer is a lot quicker. Think it is a keeper after trial run. Hope that Norton can get it's problem fixed, you can't get support, unless you want to wait 90 minutes on your computer, then the tech can't fix problem. I still get updates from their forum, and people are still experiencing problems, who had this issue.

When choosing an anti-virus program, firewall or any other security software, availability of quality/prompt technical support from the vendor is always a consideration. Lack of adequate Customer Support in addressing issues related to the use of a vendor's product is one reason folks look for other alternatives. If it is a paid product, folks talk with their wallets.

We highly recommend that you upgrade your ESET product to the latest version before upgrading to Windows 10.

Quietman,

Just found out that ESET NOD32 vs8 only has 12 hours a day live support, time to go to paid version, I don't like that. Can't figure out how to update to paid. What was other AV you mentioned?

Jim
