A new drive icon recently appeared under the "Other" category when viewing drives in Computer. I don't know how long it's been there but it's fairly recent.

Can anyone identify what it is?

See the attached or linked image.

This looks like a mixture of two things.  First, the first half of the numbers is a CLSID for your C: drive.  Second, the second half is a registry reference for Norton Backup Drive used by Comcast.  So, if you happen to be using Comcast's Norton, this may be your anti-tamper function to protect your C: drive.  try looking here:  http://community.norton.com/en/forums/remove-backup-drive-norton-Comcast

Thanks for identifying that for me. Your explanation jogged my memory and I recall installing an update of the Xfinity Constant Guard a week or two ago. I am relieved to know that it was not something malicious. Thanks again for taking time to figure it out for me!
