Can anyone help me with solving why my background will not go all the way to the bottom of all of my pages that are varying heights and for various browsers?  When I try it on my Iphone in Safari, it doesn't go all the way.  I don't have a desktop computer either so cannot check to see if it goes all the way.

Here is the code for what I am using.  Any suggestions from anyone?

/* Body text and page background */
body {
 margin: 0;
 padding: 0;
 font-family:"Book Antiqua", Times, Serif;
 font-size: large;
 color:#000000;
 background-image: url("pics/black-brown.jpg");
 background-repeat: repeat-x;
 background-attachment: fixed;
 text-align:left;
 }

Thanks,

Gary

Background image should be repeat-y not x

/* Body text and page background */
body {
 margin: 0;
 padding: 0;
 font-family:"Book Antiqua", Times, Serif;
 font-size: large;
 color:#000000;
 background-image: url("pics/black-brown.jpg");
 background-repeat: repeat-y; <!--This would properly repeat your image-->
 background-attachment: fixed;
 text-align:left;
 }

Hello,  Thank you for your response to my post.  I don't think I explained what I my image is that I am trying to carry all the way to the bottom of every page and on all platforms.  I am using a slender jpg that is about 1 px wide.  So I need to repeat it in the X direction. The problem with repeating in the Y direction is that it changes color (gradiant) from rust at the top to black at the bottom.

Repeating in the Y direction would not be the effect I am trying to get.

Is there a way to make the length to 100% in the Y direction instead of repeating it?

Thank you.

Gary
