Just created an account and I'm already satisfied that I found a website which helps the beginning (I'm intermediate) computer user in such a clear manner. I'm 55 and started prior to when Windows Millennium was introduced. Its been a long and arduous journey over five desktops and four laptops. I'm eager to learn all I can about keeping a smooth-running machine and develop troubleshooting skills which benefit me. I'm a mechanic by trade and people my age tend to take a while to assimilate their minds to computer usage. So I can seem a bit slow at times. I try to take care of my machines by typical means such as an anti-virus suite, regular maintenance on a weekly basis (disk cleaning, defragmentation), file management and cleaning inside the case. I have much to learn though. To my family members who aren't computer savvy, they say I'm an expert. I counter their claims by saying there are eighth-graders who can run circles around me.
