PROBLEM NUMBER 1  I went thru this a couple years ago, trying to install an update  - now tonight I tried to install an app and all of the passwords I have written down and the one stored in the keychain don't work - this is exactly the same thing.   I just want to install a stupid app and its going to turn into a huge deal.

NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH MICROSOFT I swear Apple must scramble these and the thing is it seems to me like I have to have a different name/password for I-tunes  ----- WHY ---- why do I have to have more than one email address and password.

So now I have to start all over - I'm really getting tired of this because after the hell I went thru last time I carefully marked all the Apple passwords down and NONE WORK.

PROBLEM NUMBER 2   Speaking of passwords - how do I remove the password I have to enter at startup or various times when Apple feels like hassling me?   I never would have put one on but the tech who installed my new harddrive put a password on it and I want to simplify

i HATE APPLE and I HATE PASSWORDS  even though theoretically I understand the need I still hate them.  The only other company I have had this problem with is T-MOBILE where I faithfully write everything down and then it says NOPE START OVER CHUMP.

GRRRRR

I JUST checked my keychain and the little box you check to show the password will not accept a checkmark

I HATE APPLE

Reset Keychain

Change or Reset user account password on your mac

To remove your login password

1. Open System settings -> Users & Groups

2. Choose your account and unlock the lock if needed (authentication required)

3. Choose change password, type your old password and leave the new password space blank.

Thanks, I appreciate the information and give it a try next time I'm on my Apple
