dell inspiron e1505 not boot up

my dell inspiron e1505 will start to boot up. it will show the word dell in blue like t normally does when  it is coming on normally but it only shows it for a short time and the screen goes black. can someone please help me. it would be much appreciated

Without troubleshooting, it sounds like it MIGHT be a bad hard drive. Can you get into BIOS before the screen goes blank?

Have you tried running the Dell Diagnostics package?

when you say the screen goes black, do you mean it shuts off? or does the system just hang, on, with a black screen? Can you tell if the processor is still running after the screen goes black?

the system hangs on with a black screen. it doesnt turn off


Have you tried running the Dell Diagnostics package

idk how to do that
