I would like to write a program to automate computer networks that uses netconf protocol. Currently I'm collecting information about various topics (sdn controller-openDayLight(osg framework - bundles, rest api, mininet), rfc6241-netconf(yaml, rpc) etc) but maybe someone would like to help me answer the simplest question. What to automate ? To make everything simple I'm focus on layer 2, only. I was thinking about:
- updating port settings
- changing administrative passwords
- adjusting access control lists
- VLAN's
What do you think ? Maybe I'm supposed to focus on higher level of abstraction like Ansible ?
