All viruses are malware but not all malware are viruses and if the malware doesn't self replicate it just isn't a virus.

These are allegations without proofs, at best. That thread title is very misleading if I may say. I don't know why Kaspersky would step that low, seeing that they are one of the leading industry in the Antivirus world and this since years ago. It wouldn't make sense to risk their whole reputation and company by doing that.

The timing of the allegations, the lack of proof, and the fact that they were promulgated by 2 "ex-employees" all raise many red flags.

I'm heading out for a pallet or two of sodium chloride tablets, as we speak.

PC Matic claims all foreign made anti-virus software cannot be trusted since they say all malware comes from those countries.

This is just another of those conspiracy theories (like the one claiming that AV companies make viruses themselves).

Just a piece of mind from a former Kaspersky user.

The claims sound more like sour grapes.

Kaspersky's reply to these groundless accusations.

Because we have another topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/586497/employees-said-kaspersky-faked-malware-to-harm-rivals/ on this issue, I am closing this topic to avoid confusion.  All further discussion shall take place in the other topic.
