I went from Firefox to Opera because of sluggishness in Firefox. Each time I start up Firefox prompts me to be the primary browser. If I want to switch back and forth as situations may dictate, can I do this and what is the easiest way to do it? If I leave Opera will it also prompt me to use them as my primary?

To stop the stock browsers from prompting to be the default each time you start,

In Firefox: Go to Tools->Options. On the General tab switch off "Always check to see if Firefox is your default browser".

In Opera, just click to "No, don't ask again" when prompted for the same.

Thank you very much. I'm sorry to be such a 'newbie' but this area of computer understanding is my weak suit.

Can you explain why my email server went from Firefox when I changed browsers to Opera...to Outlook? Each email server seems to have its' own problems. Outlook keeps wanting me to 'Refresh...Oops! An error has occurred on our end' message. And of course Microsoft could care less about reporting the message.

If there is a way to switch my email servers (I hope I'm saying this right!) so I can emphasize which is my default email server (like firefox or outlook) that would also help.

I'm 76 years old and these things don't come easy for me!

You're very welcome. :)

Well, there is nothing to be apologetic about being a "newbie" in anything. Everyone who have become experts and specialists was once a newbie. Everyone.

It's rather commendable that being a quite senior person, you've the interest to educate & upgrade yourself in this field of computer applications.

Though I'm sorry that I can't be much of help on the matter of Outlook, since I don't use it personally.

Maybe somebody else can help you more in this particular matter.

However, here are some links you can go through to see if you find them useful:

Regarding the Outlook error you mentioned, here's the MS KB article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/814441

About how to set default browser for Outlook you can see this article: http://www.werockyourweb.com/how-do-i-set-default-browser-outlook

And this one tells about setting the Default Mail Client in Windows: https://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=170

More than I could have asked for! You've been a terrific help and resource. It would be nice to return the favor someday. Best wishes to you in whatever you do.
