Someone bought a Dell Inspirin 15 3000 for my son in June (without store warranty). After a month of using it with no issues, the hard drive disappeared on start up. It now says "No bootable devices--
Strike F1 to retry boo, F2 for setup utility. Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics." After pressng F5, a warning is displayed
"ePSA 4236.21 - Warning
Hard Drive-Not installed"

Everything else tests fine. He's only used it a month, and I'm not sure what to do. Is the hard drive really dead, or is there a way to fix this?
Thank you for your help.

You can open the case and take a peek to make sure the Hard drive Power and Data connectors did not somehow get disconnected.  Are you comfortable with this?  It may be best to take it to a repair shop and let them diagnose it for sure.  Do you have another computer you can download some diagnostic tools from?  Do you have the Dell system restore disks for that computer?  If not you may need to get them from dell.

Yes, I'm comfortable looking at it.  I don't have the restore disks, but I do have another computer I can download diagnostic tools from.
