hi,

i use my pc to run pc games frequently and recently every time i get the BSOD.

it doesn't happen when i first load a game but maybe after half an our or so.

there doesn't seem to be any pattern, only that it happens while running games...

Its a custom built desktop pc with a ASUS M5A97 motherboard - With a AMD quad core 4100 fx processor.

any help will be appreciated, i have no idea what to do to fix it.

AMD High Definition Audio device is disabled.  Is this deliberate?  If so, why did you disable it?

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 1102) dates from 2012.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

C: drive only has about 7,7% free space.  Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance.  Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center.  This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

NOTE:  these symptoms were from the previous release of OverDrive.  The new release uses the same driver name, but is dated from 4 November 2013.

Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from http://www.amd.com (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLYhttp://www.sysnative.com/forums/showthread.php/668-ATI-video-cards-DRIVER-ONLY-installation-procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install".  Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's.  If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Please uninstall MalwareBytes - it may be conflicting with your other antivirus.  If you decide to reinstall it, please DO NOT allow it to install the trial of the Pro version, as that's the component with the potential conflict (the one that runs in memory when Windows boots - most often it's the "real-time protection").

It looks like you may also have AVG and Avast installed - please remove all antivirus and firewall except for one of each (this includes the Windows firewall).

I'd suggest removing the AVG as it's driver dates from 2013.  If you don't have AVG installed, please try the removal tool for it that's located here:  http://www.carrona.org/avuninst.html

Logitech drivers are older, to include your Logitech WingMan.  Please update to the latest, Win10 compatible drivers.

If there aren't any that are compatible, please uninstall the device software and then physically remove the device from the system.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

Thanks for the quick response!

Yes it was deliberate, I thought it may be the problem so I disabled that driver.

Plus one other thing about installing the video driver - I have two graphics cards in crossfire.. Does this change anything?

As long as there was no problem with the audio, then it's not a concern that you disabled it.
Do you still have sound (likely through another device on the system)?

The only problem with Crossfire is that I know nothing about it :0)

In the past (when dealing with video problems and Crossfire), I've reverted to using one card for testing.

Then added the second card to see if the problem reappeared.

But that's not necessary here just yet as I don't suspect problems with the video sub-system.

If the system is still BSOD'ing, please zip up the contents of C:\Windows\Minidump and upload it with your next post.

If you have problems zipping it up - copy it to your Desktop and zip it up from there.

You may also want to start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

This is my general "rule" about fixes:

- If it goes a week without a BSOD, it's likely to have been fixed (but still not certain)

- If it goes 2 weeks without a BSOD, then it's probably fixed

Good luck!
