stupid simple settings

hello everyone... i am trying to find out how fix a setting on internet explorer. you know how you can usually type the part of the address between www. and .com and hit "ctrl + enter" and it will add "www. + .com" to it to take you to the page? well, i have 2 computers that used to do it but have stopped doing that. how do i get them to do it again??? :thumbsup:

Create the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\QuickComplete

Create the following registry value in the key above:
QuickComplete REG_SZ http://www.%s.com

Thank You! Either I am doing it wrong, though, or it isn't working. Also, do you have a clue why this went away in the first place? Better yet, why it did it only on MY profile?

Sorry I just got back from vacation. No I am not sure why this would have stopped working...let me know if you are still having a problem and we will try to figure it out

this is an odd problem, but yes, i am still having it. it gets better, though. i have re-installed win XP home and within 2 days of the new installation, i lost that setting again. again, it is ONLY on my profile that it is gone... what am i doing to my computer??? lol :thumbsup:

I am not sure..did you install any system tweaking programs?

the closest thing i installed to "system tweaking" was antispyware software...
