Puter boots slow. After running for 15 to 25 minutes, repeated initiation of wmpnscfg.exe occurs as witnessed in the task manager. Memory useage increases to 47% or so and puter locks up. May have 12 instances of wmpnscfg.exe.

Have used Vipre AV, MalwareBytes and Windows Defender to trap the culprit but to no avail. Have used Vipre deep scan in safe mode. Windows 7 Home Premium, Dell 1558 i3 w/ 8Mb DRAM.

How can I stop this?
