Hi, I recently upgraded my PSU from a faulty one, and since then I've been having these random freezes in which my PC screen just goes into some random solid color(pink, grey, purple) and it doesn't respond at all. The only way to fix  it is a hard reset.

I've had some exceptional problem with this while playing Dota 2. I checked my rig's air circulation, which is perfectly fine. I'm not sure if this is my PC getting heated up but I've attached my temperature monitor report in the attachments.

My hardware specifications are:

Windows 10 x64 Pro

4 GB RAM

Intel Core i5 650 @3.20 GHz

Nvidia Geforce GTX 9400 GT

Intel DH55TC Motherboard

Speccy specifications: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/dWV2gaOq1oU5QXD2kY6mANy

I'll let you know anything else that's required. Thanks.

Sounds like a video problem.  Start with these free hardware diagnostics (particularly the video tests):  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

If that doesn't isolate the problem, then let's try looking at these reports:

1)  Please provide this information (even though you may not be reporting BSOD's) so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum):  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/

2)  Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

FYI - If we're looking for Event ID 41 errors (unexplained shutdowns), there's more info on that here:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Excuse the late reply, I wasn't able to access my PC until now.

I've uploaded the Events Log, the SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip file and the perfmon.zip file.

Would love a reply ASAP, thanks.

FYI - I rarely reply except in the earlyAM (Eastern Time in the US) - I believe that's 1 to 2 pm your time.

I'm on today because I got out of work early.

I am unable to open the Adnin and the perfmon reports.

Please re-generate them and then zip them up again.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version TCIBX10H.86A.0048.2011.1206.1342) dates from 2011.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

You have a Realtek RTL8188EU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter:

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later systems - using older drivers with them is almost certain to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have the latest Win7/8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use older drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

Beyond that, I'd strongly suggest that you get a legitimate copy of Windows before posting back.

it's against forum rules for us to help with pirated software.

If you're unaware of it being pirated, I'd suggest that you check here:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/genuine

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. I've regenerated those files and uploaded them in this reply.

As a matter of fact I updated my BIOS just a few days back since it was on a version which dates back to 2010. The motherboard is currently unsupported, as far as I know, so that's the latest update I have for it.

My Wireless driver is also up to date, Windows 10's forced updates made sure they were. xD

My Windows is also genuine, I don't use pirated copies. I used to have a genuine Windows 8.1 x64 Pro and I recently upgraded to Windows 10 x64 Pro, which is activated as well.

Sorry to bump in John.

@Dilute -

There is solid proof in the ZIP file which you have uploaded that the copy which you are using is pirated. Like John said, I would suggest you to get a genuine license.

That's weird, I'm pretty sure I purchased a genuine copy of Windows 8.1 a year or so back which I had been using. I couldn't do a genuine check from that webpage, it gives me this error.

This article applies to a different version of Windows than the one you’re using. Learn More about your version

Oh well, you guys know more than me. Thank you so much for the replies though.

If you really purchased a genuine copy, I would suggest you to get a refund. Also, avoid getting Windows from areas like Nehru Place, Palika Bazar, Gaffar Market etc. :)

As much as I'd love to, it's been a really long while and I don't think the retailer would do a refund anymore. But yeah you're right, I did purchase it from a similar area.

Here's proof my Windows is activated, by the way, if it's of any assistance. http://imgur.com/aUdmRYZ

Again, thanks. If you guys could further assist me somehow, that'd be helpful :')

Thanks Pranav!

It's not uncommon to find that bad people have sold pirated products to you without your knowledge.

There's a lot of info about it here:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/genuine

They used to also have a program where you could get a free copy of Windows if you turned them in (I don't know if that's still available)

Regardless, it's possible that the pirated software is the cause here.

I can advise you to check your video card and it's cooling system to be sure that it's running OK.

Also, monitor your system's temperatures with this free tool:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
