I installed windows media player classic in windows xp, I downloaded it along with some codecs. Now everytime I try to view a video clip in firefox it starts in windows media player classic rather than the normal windows media player. How do I uninstall the classic media player, it is not in the add/remove program list.

Hi SLR.
MPC is embedded in your codec package, that is why you do not see it in Add\Remove. You can uninstall it by uninstalling the codec package. A better way to solve your issue is to just configure MPC to not be the default player for files you prefer to playback in something else.
Open MPC, click View>Options>Formats to do so.
Afterwards, double check the default playback options in plain old WMP as well.
You don't want both handling the same type of media files.

I have uninstalled the cadec pack something called k-lite but MPC is still there. I have unchecked all formats in MPC, and checked all file types in normal windows media player, but still videos in websites play on the MPC

Well that's a bit odd.
Look in your c:\programs section and see if the k-lite codec pack folder is still there.
If it is, delete it.
If it's gone, locate "mplayerc.exe" and "mplayerc.ini" and delete those instead.
I know you're using firefox but open IE and click Tools>Manage Add-ons.
Make sure MPC classic is not in that list. If it is, it may have prevented MPC from being removed.
Remove it from the list.
