I recently made two switches to my Dell Inspiron 3520 i5-3210M CPU @2.5GHz. I added another 4 GB ram stick to my computer for a total of 8GB. Different manufacturer from the original stick. I also updated the graphics drivers for my Intel HD Graphics 4000 using the intel tool. After this process I started having numerous BSODs at various times for various reasons (IRQL not less or equal, Page fault in no fault area, driver overran stock buffer, etc). I could not find a pattern or action that took place that caused these to my knowledge. I was running the driver verifier and that caused one of the crashes.  I was running Windows 8.1 at the time. I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 hoping that would solve the problem, but no luck. Any crashes in the log are from after my Windows 10 clean instal. I currently have the Display adapter driver 10.18.10.4252, date 7/10/15.

I've run the windows memory diagnostic tool and that gave me an error code for my HD of 2000-0142, Msg: Short self test unsuccessful, but I don't think the HD is the issue as I bought it about 1 year ago and it has been working perfectly. I also ran memtest86+ but didn't receive any errors, although I've been told you need to let your computer heat up before conducting the test, which I didn't.

Any help or ideas that could be offered would be appreciated . I've never done a perfmon file before so I don't know if I did it correctly. Thanks for the assistance.

The lack of a pattern to the BSOD's is usually indicative of a hardware problem (although low-level drivers can cause problems that resemble hardware problems).

Start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Skip the MemTest as you've already run it - but be sure to run the hard drive tests (I have seen hard drives fail when first removed from the box - and they can fail suddenly without giving any notice).  Could also be video (things that I saw in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report)

Out of 7 memory dumps there were 6 different BSOD  (aka STOP or BugCheck) error codes (including 1 that directly blames "hardware").  The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things (the list is not in any sort of order):
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- dirt/dust/hair/fur/crud inside the case.  Blow out the case/vents with canned air (DO NOT use an air compressor or vacuum as they can cause damage to the system)
- missing Windows Updates
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from http://www.carrona.org/initdiag.html or http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html ).

Please get a head start on the hardware diagnostics - they are located here:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Your UEFI/BIOS (version A10) dates from 2013.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

amifldrv64.sys - this driver hasn't been added to the DRT as of this run. Please search Google/Bing for the driver if additional information is needed.

Thanks for the reply. I ran many of the tests. I recieved no errors from the Prime95, intel processor diagnostic, or memtestCL. Just like the Windows diagnostic test, the SeaTools from Seagate gave me an error when performing the self test and the "Fix all fast and long." I think this could be the problem, but am still in a little bit of denial, just because it coincided so perfectly with upgrading the RAM and messing with the video graphics driver. I am currently on hold with SeaGate and will probably get a new HD since mine is less than a year old. Is there any other options that might be causing this?

While it is possible that other problems could be causing this - the fact that you're having problems with the hard drive is suggestive of a problem with the hard drive.

Diagnostic test are simply software readings of hardware problems - so they aren't always 100% accurate.  But they are accurate enough to warrant a test that is 100% accurate - replacing the hard drive.

BTW - if the system is less than a year old, contact Dell and see if they'll ship you a hard drive.  Most often they ship hard drives with the operating system already installed on it.

2 things to consider:

- attempting to recover your data from the hard drive before you return it to Seagate (they'll likely ask you to ship the old one back to them).

- having recovery media to reinstall Windows on your system.
