Hi,

Welcome to BleepingComputer! Your computer is badly infected, so it will take several steps. Please do the following.

Download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to your desktop.

- Close all windows before continuing.
- Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
- Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
- You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 1 minute. Click OK
- When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
- Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
- You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
- When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
- Your computer will then shutdown.
- Turn your computer back on.

If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet please allow it.

If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/images/lib/MSWINSCK.OCX

Post back with the contents of Look2Me-Destroyer.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Take only memories, leave nothing but footprints.

Hi,

Download QooFix by RubbeR DuckY and save it to your Desktop.
- Create the folder C:\Qoofix
- Unzip the file and save the contents to C:\Qoofix
- Double-click onto qoofix.exe
- Select Begin Removal
- A reboot may be necessary if an infection is found.
- The logfile is automatically saved to the same location as Qoofix.

Post back with a copy of the QooFix logfile and a new HijackThis log.
Take only memories, leave nothing but footprints.

Hi,

Whew! You've got other infections showing. Follow these directions in the order given.

You need to install a software Firewall program present on your system. This will greatly help in preventing your system from being infected by malware. ZoneAlarm -or- Agnitum Outpost Free -or- Kerio are good FREE software Firewall programs.
See, Understanding and Using Firewalls

Uninstall the following programs:
- Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
- Select SurfSideKick 3
- Click Remove
- Select winupdates
- Click Remove
- Select ipwins
- Click Remove
- Exit.

If SurfSideKick 3 is not listed:
- Go to Start -> Run -> type or copy/paste: C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\Ssk.exe /u

Reboot your computer!

Please set your system to show all files.
- Click Start.
- Open My Computer.
- Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
- Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files
and folders.
- Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
- Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
- Click Yes to confirm.
- Click OK.

Reboot into SAFE MODE.
To get into the Windows XP Safe Mode, restart your computer and, just before Windows starts to load, tap the F8 key a few times. Choose Safe Mode from the menu that will appear and press Enter.

Start HijackThis, click System Scan Only and place a checkmark next to the following items:
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {02EE5B04-F144-47BB-83FB-A60BD91B74A9} - C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\SskBho.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SurfSideKick 3] C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\Ssk.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SurfSideKick 3] C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\Ssk.exe
O4 - Global Startup: bsysk.exe
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: repairs303169590.dll,wbsys.dll

Close ALL browsers and open windows except HijackThis and click 'Fix Checked'.

Navigate to and delete the following folders if present:
C:\Program Files\ipwins
C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3
C:\Program Files\winupdates

Navigate to and delete the following file if present:
C:\Windows\system32\wbsys.dll

Note: If the file wbsys.dll is not located in the above location, then do a search for it and then delete it.

Search for the following files and if found delete them:
Sskknwrd.dll
Ssk.log
SskUpdater.exe
Ssk.exe

Reboot your computer into Normal Mode.

Please download
Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.
  • Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
  • Click "Next"
  • In the box to choose where to extract the files, type C:\BFU
  • Click "Next" -> Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box -> then click "Finish".
  • Download
qoofix.bat (rightclick on this link and choose save as, if using IE save target as)
  • Place qoofix.bat in your C:\BFU\ folder. (Important!)
  • Doubleclick qooFix.bat -> Close all browsers and open windows/folders.
  • Choose option 1 (Qoolfix autofix) and follow the prompts.
  • Please be patient, it will take about five minutes.
After your computer has restarted, post back with a new HijackThis log. We still have more to do. Also, let me know if you encountered any problems with the instructions I posted.
Take only memories, leave nothing but footprints.
