Upgrading and not doing a clean install of any OS goes against every instinct I have as far as computers go.

Has anyone done the upgrade?

How did it go?

Is there any way to test the compatibility of the software I'm currently running?

Is Windows 10 the largest piece of spyware ever concocted?

A "Free" OS seems too good to be true.  And we all know what they say about things that seem too good to be true.

color me cynical.

It went well for me... And it's a free upgrade not a free clean install.

By the way, there's already a topic about this here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/584272/discussion-windows-10-upgrade-path-experiences/
