May be some files and applications are infetced from malware and viruses you need to scan it with windows defender in safe mode. After that scan your all drive and need to restart PC

What is the make and model of this laptop?

A System Recovery formats the HDD/SSD, so I doubt this is an infection.  My first suspicion is a problem with the HDD/SSD.

Look in the BIOS to see if the is there is a scan that can be run on the HDD/SSD.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
