I'm looking for a decent sound card which will do well for music and gaming.  I'm no audiophile but I do appreciate quality sound.

I do a bit of gaming as well so that's a factor.

PCIe format and budget around $100 US.

Thanks in advance!

MK

What kind of speaker system are you going to be using?

Ex: 5.1, 2.1,etc.

Here are some instructions for connecting to the Creative Labs sound card as a 2.1 system.

Again, Arach, thanks for the input.  I've not bought a sound card for ages but when I last did, SoundBlaster was always one that I was pleased with.
