ssd vs sata

looking for a new affordable laptop - is sata better than hd and compare it to ssd - many thanks!

Sata is a type of connection between your hard drive and the motherboard, not a type of hard drive. HDDs and SSDs are types of hard drives however. SSDs are much, much faster than HDDs and more reliable (no moving parts) but also cost a lot more. :)
