New SSD and still BSOD's - most likely a hardware problem.

The STOP 0x7E error is also frequently a hardware problem (see the Usual Causes section here:  http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x0000007E )

Please make sure that you have run all of these free diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

If all of those have passed, then it's time for this:  http://www.carrona.org/strpdown.html

I'll start on the analysis of your latest uploads, but the wife is going to want to go to dinner shortly - so I may not finish it up until tomorrow AM.........

This is a fresh analysis and I may repeat myself as I'm not going to go back and second guess myself.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 0501) dates from 2011.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

Only 228 Windows Updates installed.  Most systems have 300 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

The WER section of MSINFO32 shows a BSOD that blames your Asmedia USB 3.0 driver (as does the actual memory dump).

1)  Try to update the driver for this device and see if it helps stop the BSOD's

2)  If it doesn't, then see about disabling the USB 3.0 controller in the BIOS to see if that stops the BSOD's

1. I ran and reran Windows Update and it says that Windows is up to date.

2. SSD Diagnostics: I found the download for Samsung Magician Software here: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/support/downloads.html

I ran it and it said the SSD is good (green).

3. BIOS: I looked at the Drivers & Tools for my MoBo (Win7 64bit) and it has the following categories:

Qualified Vendor List (3)

BIOS (10)

BIOS Utilities (3)

Chipset (4)

Audio (1)

VGA (2)

LAN (4)

USB (3)

Utilities (17)

SATA (6)

BlueTooth (3)

Manuals (7)

Besides BIOS, which drivers should I download?

When I click on the latest BIOS (3606), dated 11/27/2012 it has the following instructions:

P8Z68-V PRO BIOS 3603(for Win7 & Win8)

For proper operation, please ensure to update Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver to version 11.5.0.1207 and BIOS to version 3603 before enabling Intel Smart Response Technology.

Update procedure for users needing Intel Smart Response Technology:
(1) Enter OS, and ensure Intel Smart Response Technology has been turned off under Intel Rapid Storage Technology interface.
(2) Install version Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver to version 11.5.0.1207
(3) Reboot the system, and update BIOS to version 3603, then reboot.
(4) Enter the BIOS setup screen, press F5 to load BIOS default, then change the Intel SATA Port to RAID mode.
(5) Boot into OS, and re-enable Intel Smart Response Technology under Intel Rapid Storage Technology.

I loaded the drivers that came with my original build and Intel Smart Response Technology was one of them.

I don't know how to turn it off, so I have not proceeded with the upgrade.

I did go into the BIOS and disabled USB3, so my USB Hub (3.0) is not working and I have to use onboard USB 2.0 ports for mouse/keyboard, etc.

NTB

Good news: computer stayed on all night without crashing.

Bad news: Looks like I picked up a Yahoo Toolbar virus.

I can't seem to shake it.

Tried AdwCleaner,

Tried Chrome Cleanup Tool.

If infected, I'd suggest posting over in the Am I Infected forum:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/
Please read the pinned topics at the top of the forum for instructions on how to post there.

As for the BIOS, if turning off USB 3.0 has fixed it, then the next thing is to see if a BIOS update will also fix it.

If you're uncertain, please post either in our Internal Hardware forum - or the Asus forums for more assistance in updating the BIOS.A

As for the list of drivers - update ALL of them.  If they're already the latest, it won't hurt - and if they aren't they latest, then it's good to update them.

Good luck!
