Hi, I have a Win 7 Home Edition 32bit o/s on a Toshiba Satellite and cannot connect to the internet via wireless or ethernet.
I have flushed the DNS, renewed it and tried nearly every trick in the book to pick up the ip from my router which has several devices connected and are able to connect without a problem, but not this laptop. It was able to connect a couple of weeks ago at a friends via wireless though. I am stumped.
I ran a not up to date virus data from Avast through system and it picked up a lot of adware and malware, all under quarantine now, but it would not run the malwarebytes because I cannot update the data. I even tried the cameleon version, no go because I am not connected.
I have a netgear router, I prefer not to fuss with that as all my other devices are able to connect, but this laptop. The router has given it an ip 169.254.... type address with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0
