So when I installed Windows 7 it used the original Standard VGA driver and it SUCKED! The quality was awful! So I installed the proper drivers for the Graphics Card and I got 1024x768 graphics again with everything working perfectly. However I still have the crappy Windows Vista boot screen instead of the nice animated one that Windows 7 has. I tried the bcdedit and bcdboot commands and they did nothing to fix my problem. Also should note that the Windows Vista boot screen is used also when booting to the Windows 7 Installation Disc however this is mainly because windows is still using the Standard VGA Graphics driver when booting to that which does not work at all with my system. I know that my computer can support it because the minimum requirement for it is 1024x768 which my computer has. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 on a Dell Latitude D505 with a Intel Extreme Graphics 855 GM. Please nobody tell me to not run Windows 7 on this thing or to just scrap it because it is old... It is a perfectly great computer and it works great except for this one issue... I know it can be done but I need to know how. Any advice is appreciated.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

See this page. Editing the BCD can be dangerous.

As explained before I have already tried both those commands which run successfully but upon reboot I see no change in my current issue. My problem is that Windows created it when I installed Windows 7 on the computer and it was using the terrible Standard VGA Graphics driver. I installed the proper drives manually and now the graphics are amazing but Windows won't switch to the Windows 7 boot screen because it thinks my graphics can't handle it. Any other ideas?

On that page is another link for restoring the Windows 7 boot screen. Did you use this command?

bcdedit /set {current} bootux standard

No I'll try that when I get home... It will probably get the same result but it's worth a shot

When I run that command I get "Windows could not find the file specified"

When I run bcdedit in cmd this is what I get:

Did you run the command at an elevated command prompt  CMD > Run As Adminstrator?  What does this command do?

bcdedit /set bootux standard

If that command does not work then type msconfig in the Search Box > right click Run As Adminstrator. Under the boot tab check No GUI boot. Reboot, run msconfig again and recheck the box. Reboot. Other than that I am out of ideas.
