I began having this problem back in March. I was using my computer normally, wirelessly connected to my home internet. I took a nap, then came back to my computer, and suddenly I was no longer able to connect wirelessly. My computer can see my home network, but it cannot connect. I CAN connect if I plug the ethernet cable in. Here is what I have tried:
Restarting my computer
Turning the wireless on and off
Unplugging my router, waiting 10 minutes, plugging it back in
Telling my computer to forget my home wireless network, then trying to connect
Turning my phone into a wireless hotspot (my computer sees the network, but cannot connect)
Uninstalling the wireless adapter in device manager and re-installing
When this problem began I was running Win 8.1. Today, I upgraded to Win 10, hopeful that it might fix the problem. Unfortunately, it did not. Other Info on my computer:
HP envy m4 laptop.
I have about 470GB free space
I use Avast antivirus and have done scans with it as well as Malwarebites
If you need any other specs, I'll do my best to get them for you. Thank you in advance for any advice.
