What is the ideal RAM to have for Windows 10? Is 8 GB good enough or too low?

8GB is plenty for pretty much everything.

Sorry if I snap at you. I can't stand stupid for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Hi a.h.h.10 :)

8GB of RAM is enough to run any version of Windows. Ideally, you would have around 2GB of RAM minimum to run Windows at a decent level, even thought the minimum required is 1GB of RAM for Windows 32-bit (for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10).

The only reason I ask is it's been 6 years since I've bought a new computer (Windows Vista) and that one originally had 2 GB RAM but I had to upgrade it to 4 GB. Also had another computer (Windows XP) that originally had 512 MB RAM and had add additional 2 GB of RAM.

I didn't want to buy another computer with very low RAM and didn't know how to calculate that.

You two have been helpful.

I would say that you need at least 4GB of RAM on a modern Windows computer to be comfortable. 2 and 3GB is fine, but with 4GB you'll feel at ease.

No problem, you're welcome :)
