I have a similar problem, only worse. My computer just went into hibernation and I cannot wake it up. It's a laptop -- old Toshiba Satellite A25-S307 with 512 mb ram and 60 Gb hdd, Intel Pentium 4 processor, 2.80GHz. Any ideas?

Thank you, Hamlius, for setting me straight on how to post.

Actually, I got it going. I think it was a combination of low battery and hibernation. When I plugged it in and hit the power button it started.
